Hi, my name is Paul, and I run Digital Photo Restoration as an extension to my Graphic Design Service.
Digital Photo Restoration is a small business servicing the needs to have old and damaged photos digitally restored. There are many reasons why, but most of them are simply the fact that these photos are sentimental.
Photos do deteriorate with age, and are also subject to other damage from a wide range of causes.
Commercial Digital Imaging Background
I have an extensive background in Adobe Photoshop work, as well as graphic design and web design. My experience with digital photo restoration goes back to 1999, where I worked as a ‘Digital Colourist’ at Science Photo Library in London. My work there involved the creation of images by colouring scanning electron micrograph (SEM) images and transmission electron micrograph (TEM) images and x-ray images for use by the Library to sell commercially. If you’ve seen coloured images of cells, bacteria, and coloured images of science related subjects in the media, that gives you an idea of the kind of work I used to do. Additionally, I had to digitally restore images for the library for archiving.
Since then, I have been digitally restoring old photographs on a part time basis outside of my full-time employment as a graphic designer.
In 2011 I set up a full-time home based graphic design studio and now run Digital Photo Restoration as a service offering as part of that business.

As the name suggests, I perform digital photo restoration services so can repair most photos that are damaged. Digital Photo Montages
You may have a collection of photos that you’d like turned into a montage for a special occasion or as something that is a collection of memories. There are many thinks that can be done once a photo is scanned in. For example, you could have a photo taken of a group of family members, but have a person who is missing who you’d like in the group. A photo of this person can be cut out and placed into the group, and then blended in to look like part of the main photo;
